Location:
Project Type:

Collingwood
Civic

Town of The Blue Mountains Town Hall is a contemporary civic building that reflects a strong commitment to sustainability, functionality, and community integration. Completed in 2011 on a remediated brownfield site, the design emphasizes environmental responsibility through high-performance systems including geothermal heating, rainwater harvesting, and enhanced insulation—achieving significant energy and water efficiency improvements over conventional buildings. Architecturally, the building adopts a clean, modern language with a low-scale profile that responds to its small-town context, using a balanced palette of glass, masonry, and natural materials to create a welcoming and transparent civic presence. The interior is organized to support accessibility and flexibility, reinforcing the Town Hall’s role as both an administrative hub and a central gathering space for the community it serves.
