Georgetown Public Library

Project Type:

Georgetown
Institutional

The Halton Hills Public Library in Georgetown showcases a seamless blend of historic and contemporary architecture. Anchored by the adaptive reuse of a heritage stone church, the building integrates a modern addition defined by clean lines, expansive glazing, and refined masonry. The architectural dialogue between old and new is articulated through careful massing, contrasting rooflines, and a palette that respects the building’s context while projecting a forward-looking civic identity. A transparent entry pavilion links the two volumes, creating a bright, welcoming threshold and enhancing connectivity across public spaces. With thoughtful detailing and sustainable design strategies, the library stands as a model of respectful transformation and architectural clarity.
